Committed to Education
OEP's work in the U.S. is still expanding, starting with an educational focus on the public health aspect of chronic disease. Here's what we've been doing.
STIGMA WORKSHOP AT THE NJ PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
In July, OEP hosted a large workshop at the New Jersey Presbyterian Church with 40 teens/preteens. We focused on targeting their innate biases and destigmatizing skin issues and mental health problems. Conscious awareness and sensitivity training were key in this workshop.
NJ TEEN CENTER MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS
We were able to present at the New Jersey Teen Center with Mental Health Workshops this past summer. By sharing our experiences and the most prevalent causes of debilitating mental health today, we were able to help some of the NJ youth and raise awareness for how skin can affect mental stability.
HACKENSACK HEALTH DEPARTMENT INTERVIEW
We had the incredible opportunity to interview Public Health officials at the Hackensack Health Department of Bergen County. We learned what their day-to-day jobs look like, how they aim to help chronic disease and their current projects for mental health.
